DOCUMENTATION FOR CONSULAR CERTIFICATION / LEGALIZATION

APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATION/LEGALISATION OF DOCUMENTS

     * Some notes on legalization of Vietnam in relations with other countries

     1. For the consular certification of Vietnamese papers and documents to be recognized and used abroad, including:

     1.1. 01 Declaration for consular certification/legalization, made according to the form No. LS/HPH-2012/TK (Can be printed from the Consular Information Portal - Ministry of Foreign Affairs: lansuvietnam.gov.vn).

     1.2. Originals of identification papers (ID cards, passports or papers that replace passports) in case of direct application; or 01 photocopy of identity document (ID card, passport or passport replacement) for the case of submitting the application by post. This document does not need to be authenticated.

     1.3. Papers and documents requested for consular certification.

     1.4. 01 photocopy of papers and documents requested for consular certification.

     1.5. 01 envelope clearly stating the recipient's address (if the application is sent by post and the result is requested to be returned by post).

     * In case it is necessary to check the authenticity of papers and documents requested for consular certification, the dossier-receiving officer may request the applicant for consular certification to produce additional originals of the papers and documents. relevant documents and submit 01 photocopy of this document.

     2. For the consular legalization of foreign papers and documents to be recognized and used in Vietnam, including:

     2.1. 01 Declaration of consular certification/legalization, made according to form No. LS/HPH-2012/TK.

     2.2. Originals of identification papers (ID cards, passports or papers that replace passports) in case of direct application; or 01 photocopy of identity document (ID card, passport or passport replacement) for the case of submitting the application by post. This document does not need to be authenticated.

     2.3. Papers and documents requested for consular legalization (certified by a foreign diplomatic mission, consular office or other agency authorized to perform consular functions).

     2.4. 01 photocopy of papers and documents requested for consular legalization.

     2.5. 01 translation of papers and documents requested for consular legalization into Vietnamese or English (if such papers and documents are not made in these languages). The translation is not certified. The applicant is responsible for the accuracy of the translation.

     2.6. 01 copy of translation of papers and documents.

     2.7. 01 envelope clearly stating the recipient's address (if the application is sent by post and the result is requested to be returned by post).
